Sesotho Dictionary Available

It is with great pleasure to announce the availability of the monolingual Sesotho dictionary by Madiela Chitja.

This has long been coming, and I may add, long overdue. I could see so many possibilities emanating from this superb work from one of our own. The dictionary has over 38,000 entries! Download the dictionary here.

Welcome to version 4 of Nalane.

some image of common need After ten years of publishing, this is our fourth version of the site. Our first site went live in February 1998. It has been a long journey, an interesting one. Finally the site is coming together and all the pieces falling into place. This is the beginning, watch the space.

Funding and Resources

My humble apologies to people who have made requests for assistance in the various areas of culture and tradition. While I may take long for some to respond, I will eventually attend to all requests. Nalane is a one man show for now, so it is both labour intensive and costly to do what I do. But I will attend to all requests that come through.

Basotho Heritage

The Basotho site has reached a maturity level that gives us comfort. It is still authored in Sesotho only, and perhaps it is time we start making plans to provide a translation. The missing part is still the photographs, which will now be the focal point of our work moving forward.

amaXhosa Heritage

amaXhosa site, the very first of our sites, has been somewhat neglected and not much growth has happened. The site has remained static over a number of years, until now. We have a number of developments coming for the site. The most pressing issue being to provide the isiXhosa version of the site.

The Brands

Fezekile Futhwa is the brand name. Nalane, futhwa.org.za, 2dots and qwaqwa.org.za are services provided for a specific purpose. Nalane is about Afrikan heritage. futhwa.org.za is about my self expression. 2dots is corporate, somewhat. qwaqwa.org.za is about setting the record straight.
